Role Purpose
The Infrastructure Engineer plays a key role in ensuring Capricorn’s IT systems and services perform optimally across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions that support business-critical operations. The position also drives automation initiatives and collaborates across teams to continuously improve infrastructure performance and reliability.
Capabilities Required
Technical Skills:
• Advanced understanding of hybrid environments (Active Directory, Azure AD) and on-prem/cloud infrastructure management.
• Strong experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible) to drive continuous improvement.
• Solid knowledge of system performance monitoring, incident management, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, storage solutions, and security best practices.
Experience:
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering or IT systems support roles, with a proven track record of managing hybrid environments and cloud migrations.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and optimising infrastructure solutions, supported by incident and outage management experience.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Advanced certifications in Microsoft Azure.
• Demonstrated expertise in scripting, with PowerShell preferred.
• Networking certifications favourable (Cisco preferred).
• ITIL certification, demonstrating proficiency in IT service management best practices.
