The role and what we are looking for
Reporting to the National Commercial Manager, the Commercial Area Manager will be responsible for Capricorn’s Commercial vehicle strategy which includes an accountable action plan utilising both internal and external key stakeholders. The incumbent will be responsible for developing business with existing commercial members and assigned suppliers with a focus on establishing new commercial business within a designated region or state to achieve membership and sales growth for the organisation.
Working from home, the incumbent is required to be motivated, results-orientated, and have a high degree of work-time flexibility to ensure all business dealings and position accountabilities are met on schedule. The development of strong relationships across the membership, supply chain, industry associations and internal business units is paramount to both the success of this role and driving increased market share, member support and increased member patronage. The incumbent can expect to engage in frequent intra and interstate travel, spending a significant amount of time on the road in order to fulfil their duties. In order to be effective in this position, the incumbent must be able to build strong relationships and have excellent selling skills.
Experience:
• Proven sales, relationship management or high-level customer service experience is essential (Commercial industry experience is desirable).
• Successful experience working in a similar role, preferably for a Cooperative or other member-based organisation.
• Experience in the commercial industry with an understanding of commercial supply chain.
• Sound understanding of business and corporate legislation particularly as it relates to cooperatives and Trade Practices Act (desirable)
• Sound understanding of the automotive and commercial parts and service industry.
