Role Purpose
This role delivers mid level technical expertise in cybersecurity to support daily operations, including the investigation and resolution of complex security incidents. The Cybersecurity Engineer will take a proactive approach, driving continuous improvements to the company’s cybersecurity posture by identifying opportunities to enhance security configurations and processes in collaboration with IT teams.
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
Technical Skills:
Advance proficiency with Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender, Intune, Purview) and Azure security services.
Strong experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation management, and patch management.
Solid understanding of network security, firewalls, endpoint protection, and security monitoring.
Strong experience in SecOps and incident response processes.
Understanding of cyber security frameworks, including ISO27001, Essential 8.
Understanding of risk management processes.
Soft Skills:
Great documentation skills (writing risk assessments, policies, procedures, etc.)
Leads by example with cyber security behaviours and encourages others.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and resolve complex cybersecurity issues.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively across teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration on security initiatives.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, focusing on achieving overall goals and delivering quality results beyond individual tasks.
Embraces challenges with a positive attitude, thriving in a culture that values learning from mistakes.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with a focus on incident response, vulnerability management, and security posture improvement - with a minimum of 3 years in Cyber.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender, Intune, Purview) and Azure security services.
Proven track record in investigating complex security incidents, implementing security enhancements, and leading vulnerability assessments.
Experience working in dynamic environments with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
Required
Professional certifications on Microsoft Security Administration (SC-100, MS-102, SC200, SC-300, SC-400 etc.,)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
